A dreamer, traveler, and storyteller. My heart finds it rhythm in the quiet moments of life- those stolen seconds where time seems to slow, and all that matters is the beauty around us. Whether it's the lingering embrace of a loved one, the aroma of a homemade meal, or the breathtaking colors of a sunset, I believe these are the moments that make life truly extraordinary.
I have always found joy in exploring new places, but there's something uniquely special about returning to the ones that feel like home. Montana is one of those places for me- a sanctuary of wide-open spaces and towering mountains that call to my soul. One day, I hope to have a home there, nestled among the majestic mountains and beneath the vast, open sky.
My love for travel began when I was a little girl, inseparable from my mom.... wherever she went, I followed. She had this incredible gift of making everything, even the ordinary, feel like an adventure. My dad worked hard to bring life to her dreaming, and together they instilled in us a love for exploring . We quickly learned the value of traveling as a family, which became a tradition of adventure and discovery that shaped my heart and filled my soul. We would embark on many adventures, but the road trips out west are the ones most dear to my heart. The kind where the miles seem to disappear as laughter and conversation filled the car.
These journeys, filled with wide-open spaces and breathtaking landscapes, are etched in my heart. They are the stories I can't wait to share and recreate with my own family one day. Traveling has a way of immersing me in new experiences that I never want to end, while simultaneously deepening my heart for home. Each destination brings a fresh perspective, a chance to see God's creation in all its splendor. The mountains, rivers, and endless skies remind me of His infinite creativity, and I often find myself in awe, unable to fathom the beauty before me.
Though I have deep roots in the South, my heart often longs for the West. There's an allure in the rugged landscapes, the untamed beauty, and the sense of freedom that comes with the territory. The West has inspired so much of what I do and who I am- the mountains, the colors, the spirit of adventure. While the South will always hold my heart, the West holds the key to my dreams.
Capturing the memories we create on our adventures- both in everyday life and while traveling- is a passion that runs deep for me. There's something so beautiful about freezing a moment in time, preserving the emotions and stories held within it. My love for photography and videography was inspired by my travels and further nurtured by my cousin. Her creativity and encouragement helped me see the world through a different lens. Every photograph I take is a tribute to the joy of capturing beauty and creating lasting memories, allowing us to look back and remember all the amazing times we've had.
My love for cooking and baking began when I was a little girl. My mom would let me set up a chair or stool in front of the stove so I could cook and bake all day. There were many burns and test recipes that didn't quite turn out, but those experiences sparked a passion that has only grown over the years. There's something special about how food can bring people together, creating a space to share stories, laughter, and love. I cherish the moments spent around the table, where each dish serves as an invitation to create new memories and deepen our connections with one another.
However, when I reached high school, I found myself drifting away from the kitchen. I was busy with other activities, and at the time, I didn't think cooking was "cool." It wasn't until this past year, while I was rediscovering my passions, that I realized how much I missed it. The kitchen- where I had always found joy in creating, laughing, and bringing people together- called me back. It became clear that cooking and baking have always been apart of who I am. Now, I can't wait to share all the wonderful recipes we love, both new and old, and continue making memories around the table.
My relationship with God is at the center of everything I do, guiding my steps and filling my heart with gratitude. Through this blog, I hope to share my passions with you- my love for travel, family, food, and the beauty of everyday life. I want to inspire you to seek out the extraordinary in the ordinary, to cherish the moments that take your breath away, and to find joy in the journey, wherever it may lead.
Hello, I'm Emma Mae!
I was homeschooled most of my life, a decision for which I am eternally grateful. While it had its challenges, looking back, I wouldn't change a thing. The time I spent with my family during those years was invaluable. We made countless memories, grew closer, and built bonds that have stood the test of time. It's hard to imagine my life unfolding any other way.
Wilmajo also reflects the life we live in the South, where we gather with our people and share life around the table. It's where my sister’s passion for horses flourishes, my brother’s baseball always bringing everyone together, and our shared values of faith, heritage, and a slower, simpler way of life blend beautifully together. Anchoring us to the important things in life.
Turquoise has become more than just a color or a stone—it too is a part of our daily lives, symbolizing our connection to both the land and its history.
